50m W of the light a crack splits the rockface above the water. Descending beneath the surface is a series of ledges a couple of metres wide, then at about 30m bedrock rolls away, becomes vertical by 45m and plunges away into the darkness. The wall extends horizontally for at least 200m. Close inshore the depth is 270m. Crabs, lobsters and nudibranches were seen on the shelves; large bolocera anemones were seen on the bedrock; there were large numbers of tiny colourful metridium anemones beneath the kelp at 2-3m; and fish were plentiful at all depths. In June 2015 there were many 1-1.5m dogfish swimming and resting on ledges.
