Hans Leonhardt was a 4174gt German cargo vessel built in 1938. Her dimensions were 120x17x6 metres. She was carrying a cargo of ammunition when she was torpedoed by British aircraft in June 1944. She caught fire and subsequently blew up and sank.

The bow section of the wreck is said to be reasonably intact, but abaft of the bow the remaining three quarters of her length is a tangled mess. Debris from the explosion is spread over a wide area, including a large winch ashore 500m from the wreck site.
