Ceang
The Ceang is a 500gt modern coastal cargo boat which hit a reef in August 1977. Three of the six crew lost their lives, and one body was never recovered. The Ceang lies NE/SW with the bows to the island (SW) in 10m. The wreck has a 45 degree list to port and sits at 25m on a sandy bottom in very good visibility. The ship's wheel has gone, but most of the brass fittings were still in place in July 2001. Her last cargo of 576 tons of stone chippings is still in the hold. Links |
